PARTICIPANT WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY & ASSUMPTION OF RISK

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PARTICIPATING.

By registering for, attending, checking in to, or participating in this Strength Training class or experience, I acknowledge and voluntarily agree to the following:

1. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

I understand that this Strength Training experience involves strenuous physical activity and may include moderate to high-intensity strength and conditioning exercises.

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

Heavy, moderate, and light weightlifting
Dumbbells and kettlebells
Barbells, weight plates, and weighted equipment when available
Squats, lunges, deadlifts, presses, rows, and carries
Farmer's carries and other loaded carries
Resistance bands and loops
Bodyweight exercises
Push-ups, planks, burpees, and other functional movements
Core and stability exercises
Explosive or power-based movements
Repetitive movements and high-repetition exercises
Isometric holds and pulses
Partner or team exercises
Circuit and interval training
Cardiovascular conditioning
Jumping, stepping, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, reaching, and rapid changes of direction
Other strength, functional fitness, and conditioning exercises

I understand that exercises, weights, resistance levels, repetitions, equipment, and workout formats may vary.

2. ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I understand that strength training and strenuous physical activity involve inherent and other risks, including risks that may not always be foreseeable.

Potential risks may include, but are not limited to:

Muscle soreness, strains, sprains, bruising, cuts, falls, collisions, joint injuries, fractures, back or spinal injuries, neck or shoulder injuries, tendon or ligament injuries, equipment-related injuries, dropped weights, overexertion, dehydration, dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath, abnormal blood pressure, cardiovascular complications, and other serious bodily injury.

I understand that lifting weights while fatigued may affect my balance, coordination, technique, grip strength, judgment, and ability to safely complete an exercise.

I knowingly and voluntarily assume the inherent risks associated with my participation.

3. PERSONAL HEALTH & FITNESS RESPONSIBILITY

I understand that it is my responsibility to determine whether I am physically capable of safely participating in this Strength Training experience.

If I have an injury, medical condition, physical limitation, recent surgery, pregnancy, cardiovascular concern, respiratory condition, joint or spinal condition, balance issue, or any other condition that could affect my ability to exercise safely, I understand that I should consult an appropriate healthcare professional before participating.

I understand that instructors, coaches, organizers, staff, volunteers, partners, and venues are not providing medical advice, diagnosis, physical therapy, or medical clearance.

4. WEIGHT SELECTION & PERSONAL LIMITS

I understand that I am responsible for selecting an appropriate amount of weight and resistance for my individual strength, experience, and ability.

I am never required to lift a particular amount of weight, complete a particular number of repetitions, maintain a particular pace, or perform an exercise that I do not feel capable of safely performing.

I understand that another participant's weight selection or ability should not determine the weight or resistance that I choose.

I agree to reduce my weight, modify an exercise, take a break, or stop exercising when necessary.

5. EQUIPMENT SAFETY

I understand that Strength Training may involve dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, plates, resistance bands, benches, mats, steps, and other fitness equipment.

I understand that risks associated with equipment may include:

Dropping a weight
A weight or piece of equipment striking myself or another participant
Losing my grip on equipment
Resistance bands slipping, snapping, or breaking
Equipment moving unexpectedly
Tripping over weights or equipment
Improper lifting technique
Equipment malfunction or failure

I agree to follow reasonable instructions regarding equipment use and immediately report damaged or unsafe equipment.

I agree not to intentionally throw, drop, misuse, or recklessly handle equipment unless the exercise and designated training area specifically permit that type of movement.

6. SPOTTING & ASSISTANCE

I understand that certain exercises may involve assistance or spotting from an instructor, coach, or another participant.

I understand that spotting and assistance cannot eliminate all risks associated with lifting weights.

I agree to communicate when I need assistance and will not attempt a weight or movement that I reasonably believe exceeds my current ability.

7. MODIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITY TO STOP

I agree to immediately slow down, modify, or stop exercising if I experience pain, dizziness, nausea, unusual shortness of breath, weakness, chest discomfort, numbness, loss of balance, unusual fatigue, or any other concerning symptom.

I understand that I may request a modification from the instructor; however, I remain responsible for determining whether an exercise or modification is appropriate for my body.

Competition, encouragement from others, or my desire to complete the workout does not relieve me of my responsibility to exercise within my abilities.

8. TRAINING AREA & SURROUNDINGS

I understand that the training area may contain weights, equipment, mats, benches, sweat, water, uneven surfaces, or other potential hazards.

I agree to remain aware of my surroundings and maintain reasonable distance from other participants who are lifting, carrying, swinging, pushing, pulling, or otherwise using weighted equipment.

9. HYDRATION, FATIGUE & HEAT

I understand that strenuous strength training may cause increased heart rate, sweating, fatigue, dehydration, and elevated body temperature.

If training takes place outdoors or in a warm or heated environment, I understand that heat and humidity may increase the risk of dehydration, overheating, dizziness, heat exhaustion, and other heat-related illness.

I am responsible for arriving appropriately hydrated, taking water and rest breaks when needed, and monitoring how I feel throughout the workout.

10. INSTRUCTOR DIRECTIONS

I agree to follow reasonable safety instructions provided by instructors, coaches, and event staff.

I understand that an instructor or coach may ask me to reduce my weight, modify an exercise, stop an activity, or discontinue participation if they reasonably believe continued participation creates a safety concern.

11. EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE

If I become injured or experience a medical emergency and I am unable to make decisions for myself, I authorize event personnel to contact emergency medical services and take reasonable steps to assist me until professional medical care becomes available.

I understand that the event organizer does not guarantee that medical personnel will be present.

I understand that I am responsible for medical expenses resulting from my participation to the extent permitted by applicable law and my insurance coverage.

12. VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION

My participation is completely voluntary.

I understand the physical demands associated with strength training and voluntarily choose to participate despite the inherent risks associated with lifting weights, resistance training, functional movements, conditioning, and the use of fitness equipment.

13. RELEASE & WAIVER OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I voluntarily assume the inherent risks associated with my participation and agree to release, waive, and hold harmless the event organizer; hosting organization; instructors; coaches; trainers; event venue/property owner; employees; contractors; volunteers; sponsors; vendors; partners; affiliates; officers; directors; agents; representatives; and their respective successors and assigns from claims for injury, loss, or damage arising from the inherent risks of my voluntary participation, except for claims or liabilities that cannot legally be waived or released under applicable law.

Nothing in this waiver is intended to waive rights or claims that cannot legally be waived.

14. PERSONAL PROPERTY

I understand that I am responsible for my personal belongings before, during, and after the event.

The event organizer, instructors, venue, staff, and partners are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

15. PHOTO, VIDEO & MEDIA RELEASE

I understand that photography and video recording may take place during the Strength Training experience.

I grant the event organizer permission to photograph, film, and record my image, likeness, voice, and appearance and use such content for lawful promotional purposes, including social media, websites, advertisements, event recaps, sponsorship materials, and other marketing communications, without compensation to me.

16. PARTICIPANT CONDUCT

I agree to conduct myself in a manner that reasonably protects my safety and the safety of others.

I agree to use equipment responsibly, respect the instructor and other participants, and avoid intentionally reckless behavior.

I understand that unsafe conduct, misuse of equipment, or failure to follow reasonable safety instructions may result in my removal from the class or event.

17. ACKNOWLEDGMENT & AGREEMENT

By completing registration, electronically accepting this waiver, checking in, and/or participating, I acknowledge that:

I have read and understand this waiver.

I understand that this Strength Training experience may involve heavy lifting, weighted equipment, resistance training, high-intensity exercise, repetitive movements, and physically demanding conditioning.

I understand that these activities carry inherent risks of injury.

I understand that I am responsible for choosing appropriate weights, modifying movements, and exercising within my individual abilities.

I voluntarily choose to participate and voluntarily assume the inherent risks associated with my participation.

I understand that this agreement affects certain legal rights and is intended to apply to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

BY REGISTERING AND ACCEPTING THIS WAIVER, I CONFIRM THAT I HAVE READ, UNDERSTAND, AND VOLUNTARILY AGREE TO THE TERMS ABOVE.
