**A typical beginner lesson starts with wetsuit sizing, then we walk to the beach with boards while discussing safety. At the water's edge, we practice the pop-up technique on the sand, breaking it down into simple steps. We'll cover surf etiquette, right of way, and how to avoid other surfers. 🏄**&#x20;

The goals are to be safe, have fun, enjoy nature, get a great workout, and learn to stand up on a wave. It's not about catching waves on day one—that depends on how you feel and the conditions.&#x20;

Bigger waves offer more push but can toss you around if you're not positioned right. Smaller waves are gentler but require more effort. Riding waves on your belly counts as success too.&#x20;

Surfing is a patience meditation for beginners and advanced surfers alike. After a safety review, we practice in the white water rather than green waves. I'll be right there guiding you and giving extra pushes when needed.

Most beginners tire quickly since surfing requires paddling stamina that takes time to build. When we're done, we thank the ocean and rinse off. The workout is built in—no gym needed afterward.

For advanced students, we focus on specific techniques you want to improve or areas I notice could use refinement.

I, ,the undersigned, an adult, and/or parent or guardian of surf students of Christopher Hawley and his associates, understand and accept the dangers of surfing; I release Christopher from any loss, expense, or damage which might occur to me in the event of any harm, injury or death as a result of taking a lesson from Christopher Hawley. 

Sunrise Surf: Group Lesson

Includes lesson, wet suit, and/or board rental.

Add-on another hour of using the equipment after the lesson ends. $100 security deposit required prior to lesson, refundable after return.
