Friday Nights Unplugged: Somatic Yoga & Sound Bath Class (Lumen Room) hosted by BATHE — wellness events in Austin

Hosted by Friday Nights Unplugged: Somatic Yoga & Sound Bath Class (Lumen Room)

This is a slow flow yoga for stress release followed by a soothing sound bath. This class is designed to help people close out their work week (unplug), and transition into the weekend with mindfulness and self care. Somatic Yoga is a slow, body-led practice that invites you to move from the inside out. Rather than pushing into postures, you'll be guided to tune into sensation, release held tension, and reconnect with your body's natural wisdom. This 45 minute class draws on somatic principles — gentle, intentional movement that speaks directly to the nervous system — making it a deeply supportive practice for anyone navigating stress, burnout, or simply the pace of daily life. No prior yoga experience is needed, and no flexibility is required. Whether you're new to movement or returning after time away, this class meets you exactly where you are. You'll leave feeling more at home in your body — settled, spacious, and more present than when you walked in. A Sound Bath is a deeply restful, fully immersive experience where you do nothing but lie down and receive. You'll be bathed in resonant tones and vibrations produced by instruments like crystal singing bowls, gongs, and chimes — sounds that guide the nervous system into a state of calm, often reaching depths of relaxation that are difficult to access on your own. There's nothing to do, no experience needed, and no way to do it wrong. This class is open to absolutely everyone — those new to wellness practices, those managing anxiety or chronic stress, and anyone who simply needs permission to stop and be still. Many guests describe the experience as the most rested they've felt in months. **Every ticket includes full access to our soaking garden**, available to you after class for as long as you need. We encourage you to linger, integrate, and let the water do its work. **TIME:** Friday, May 29th @ 6:30PM (Please arrive 15 minutes before the class begins.) **FACILITATOR:** Soul Adventures ATX **WHAT TO BRING:** We provide mats, please bring your own swimsuit and towel for soaking afterwards.

Frequency: A Movement + Sound Experience hosted by Sona Shala — wellness events in Austin

Hosted by Frequency: A Movement + Sound Experience

There is something we are always in relationship with - rhythm, breath, sound, the subtle frequencies moving through the body before they are ever named. Frequency is not just what we hear. It is what we feel. The pace of the breath, the rhythm of the heart, the way the body responds before there is thought. This experience is an invitation to tune into that - to notice how sound and movement are constantly informing each other. As music moves, the body follows. As the body opens, the way we receive sound changes. It becomes a conversation rather than something separate. Movement, dance, and ritual woven together…structure softening into intuition, guidance opening into expression. [Kiana](https://www.instagram.com/kianaochoa_/) will be holding space in a new way, guiding through sound and DJing while creating a field that evolves in real time - something to move with, something to listen into. [Sonali](https://www.instagram.com/connectwithsonali/) will guide movement, opening into intuitive flow and expression, and close with a sound bath to support integration - allowing the body to fully receive and settle. There is no single way to experience this. You may move. You may dance. You may pause. You may lie down and listen. All of it belongs. Held in the park at sunset, the environment becomes part of the experience - the sound of the land, the rhythm of the space, the presence of community. Small ritual elements will be woven throughout, along with curated goodies and a giveaway for [Threshold: A New Year’s retreat in Costa Rica.](sonashala.com/threshold) An invitation to arrive as you are, to tune in, and to be moved.

Cooling Practices for Summer Heat: An Ayurvedic Approach hosted by The Unbuzzed Club — wellness events in Austin

Hosted by Cooling Practices for Summer Heat: An Ayurvedic Approach

As we all know, the summer months here in Austin can lead to feeling *overheated*—physically, mentally, and emotionally! This can look like irritability, inflammation, impatience, skin flare-ups, disrupted digestion, headaches, a constant feeling of being ‘on edge’, etc. Over time, this internal heat becomes normalized, leaving us depleted, reactive, and out of sync with our natural rhythm. **In this 90-minute class, we’ll explore how to support the body and mind during the summer season** through the lens of Ayurveda—an ancient system of medicine that supports the wellbeing of body, mind and spirit. **Together, we’ll explore how to gently restore balance through:** • Foods that support digestion without adding heat • Simple dietary shifts to calm inflammation and irritability • Daily rhythms that help regulate energy and prevent burnout • Herbal allies traditionally used to cool, soothe, and support the system • Accessible embodiment practices, including breathwork and marma therapy This class is an invitation to soften intensity and move through the summer with greater ease; not by pushing through the heat, but by learning how to work with it**. No prior knowledge of Ayurveda is needed.** This class translates ancient wisdom into practical, accessible tools for everyday life. **What to bring** (optional but encouraged): Notebook Pen Please note this workshop uses floor seating. We encourage you to bring a yoga mat or anything that makes you comfortable — we'll also have extra pillows and mats on hand. If floor seating isn't an option for you, alternative seating will be available.

Hosted by SoBirding

Join us for a SoBirding outing! This is a sober event (sober birding) and open to people in recovery and/or allies. We’ll introduce you to the basics of birding, techniques for observing and discussion of the meditative practices that are part of birding. Plus, you’ll meet some great people! Open to absolutely anyone, any skill level or person. Nothing needed except to show up and be ready to experience birding. We’ll explore a natural area along the Colorado River and the forest of the wildlife sanctuary that’s right under our noses, but rarely seen. Hosted by a Certified Naturalist and birding enthusiast Zach Bowers. What to Know: Bring water, wear sunscreen and consider a hat & bug spray. I’ll have extras of each of those things. Wear shoes you’re comfortable walking in for about two hours. If you have binoculars, great! Please bring them, but they aren’t needed. Arriving: Park on Montopolis drive at Clovis St. We’ll gather before the bridge there. This is a side street off of Montopolis drive main! Near the intersection near 183, but in a pedestrian/residential area.

Maybe you just know something needs to shift and you're not sure what yet. Whoever you are, you're in the right place. Every other Wednesday at 8:00 AM CT, people from all over open their laptops, find a quiet spot, and dedicate 30 minutes for themselves doing something most people never make time for: deeply resetting their nervous system before the day begins. Breathwork is one of the most powerful tools available to the human body. In just 30 minutes you can completely shift your state: release stored stress, clear mental noise, and reconnect to what actually matters. The science is real. The feeling is something you have to experience to understand. **Here's what happens in 30 minutes:** → Breathwork rounds that activate your body, move stagnant energy, and shift your state completely → Guided meditation to drop out of your head and into stillness → Gratitude practice to reconnect to your purpose and set your intentions **And here's what people walk away with:** A nervous system that feels regulated instead of fried. Mental clarity that cuts through the noise. A sense of purpose that makes the rest of the day feel lighter. That quiet confidence that comes from showing up for yourself before anyone else could ask anything of you. People come once and keep coming back... not because they have to, but because nothing else in their week feels quite like this. This is your reset. Your 30 minutes. Join from your bedroom, your couch, your office, wherever you are in the world. **No equipment. No experience needed. Just show up.** *Free. Live. Online. MIDYEAR MAGIC w/ The Power Well hosted by BATHE — wellness events in Austin

Hosted by MIDYEAR MAGIC w/ The Power Well

# MIDYEAR MAGIC ## A Summer Solstice Activation Workshop + Ceremony Under the energy of the summer solstice — a season associated with light, growth, expansion, and visibility — we’ll gather to honor where you’ve been, reconnect to where you’re going, and consciously step toward the life that’s waiting for you. Blending future-self activation, embodiment practices, intentional reflection, nervous system recalibration, and a powerful solstice ceremony, this immersive experience is designed to help you reconnect to your North Star vision, expand your sense of possibility, and step fully into your next chapter with greater clarity, courage, alignment, and momentum. This transformational midsummer experience is for people ready to stop circling the life they dream of. It’s an opportunity to recalibrate, reconnect with yourself, and intentionally shift the energy and direction of the second half of your year — and potentially, the direction of your life. # THE EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE: * A powerful “North Star” clarity process to reconnect you to your deepest desires, direction, and vision for the second half of the year * Guided future-self identity activation * Reflective midyear recalibration exercises to help you take stock of what this year has revealed so far * Gentle movement, breathwork, and energetic practices to awaken, ground, and activate you * A special summer solstice ceremony featuring curated bites, an activation elixir, and intentional ritual * Your personalized **Future Self Audio Transmission** — a powerful take-home tool created by you, for you, designed to reinforce your vision and retrain your subconscious through repeated listening * Integration practices to help you carry the energy and clarity of the experience into your real life # THIS EXPERIENCE IS FOR YOU IF: * You started the year with intentions, goals, or dreams for yourself, but somewhere along the way the momentum you hoped for never fully came * You’ve spent the first half of the year surviving, adapting, staying busy, or keeping everything afloat without truly slowing down to reconnect with yourself and what you actually want now * You can feel a bigger version of your life trying to emerge, but you haven’t fully embodied the version of you capable of holding it yet * You’re craving clarity, expansion, inspiration, and a renewed sense of direction * You secretly know you’re playing small with your dreams, creativity, relationships, purpose, or career * You’ve outgrown an old version of yourself, but haven’t fully stepped into your next chapter yet * You’re constantly consuming inspiration, podcasts, books, wellness content, or advice, but haven’t paused long enough to deeply hear your own voice * You’re successful or high-functioning on the outside, but internally feel disconnected from your vision, your aliveness, or your deeper sense of purpose # WHAT TO EXPECT This experience is part reflection, part activation, and part ceremony. For some people, this will feel like a reset. For others, it may feel like the moment something important finally clicks into place. This is an opportunity to pause long enough to truly listen inward, reconnect with your North Star vision, and intentionally choose the energy, identity, and direction you want to carry into the second half of the year. # WHAT TO BRING * A journal + pen for reflection and exercises * Comfortable clothes you can move, breathe, and fully relax in * A water bottle * An open mind and willingness to reconnect with yourself, your vision, and what’s possible for you * Anything small and meaningful you’d like to place on the altar or hold during the solstice ceremony (a crystal, note, photo, etc.) # YOUR TICKET INCLUDES ACCESS TO: * Wood-fired, infrared, and dry saunas * Hormone-optimizing cold plunges * Mineral-enriched hot springs tubs * Heated + cooled dipping pools * Sun-soaked lounges and good vibes # ABOUT YOUR GUIDE Emma Hoffman is a manifestation coach, retreat leader, yoga teacher, and founder of The Power Well Coaching. Blending neuroscience, embodiment, subconscious reprogramming, and energetic work, Emma helps people make manifestation practical, actionable, and deeply transformative — supporting them in turning intention into lived reality and creating lives that feel aligned, expansive, and deeply their own. Imagine morning yoga classes held in Zilker Park with views of the Austin skyline, or guided nature walks along the Barton Creek Greenbelt, culminating in a mindful meditation session near Sculpture Falls. The proximity to Lady Bird Lake also means frequent paddleboard yoga or kayaking meditation gatherings. **East Austin** brings a more bohemian and community-driven vibe to wellness. What to Expect at Your First Wellness Event

When attending a wellness event in Austin, expect a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Most events, whether it's a guided meditation, a sound bath, or a restorative yoga session, typically run for 60 to 90 minutes. The format often begins with a brief introduction, followed by the core practice, and concludes with a period of reflection or relaxation. The pace and difficulty levels are generally designed to be accessible to all, with instructors providing modifications for various experience levels. For outdoor events, like those in Zilker Park or along Lady Bird Lake, the focus is often on connecting with nature and community. You might find groups practicing breathwork as the sun rises over the water or engaging in gentle movement under the shade of pecan trees. Indoor events, from studios on South Congress Avenue to community centers in East Austin, offer a more controlled environment for practices like reiki, aromatherapy workshops, or specialized movement classes. Regardless of the setting, always bring a water bottle, comfortable clothing, and an open mind. For yoga or meditation, a mat and any personal props are recommended. The social atmosphere is typically friendly and supportive, encouraging connection without pressure.

Getting Started

Diving into Austin's wellness scene is surprisingly easy, with many options available for newcomers. To sign up, check platforms like Sweatpals, local studio websites, or community bulletin boards at places like Central Market. Many events, especially outdoor yoga or meditation in parks, are donation-based or completely free, making them highly accessible. For your first session, it is wise to arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in, get settled, and introduce yourself to the instructor or host. This also allows you to find a comfortable spot and get acquainted with the space. Etiquette for most wellness events is straightforward: silence your phone, respect the quiet space, and listen to the instructor's guidance. If you need to leave early, inform the host beforehand. Cost expectations vary widely; free community events are common, donation-based classes might suggest $10-20, and studio drop-in rates typically range from $15-30. Many studios also offer introductory packages or new client specials, so don't hesitate to ask about those options when you're exploring. The goal is always to create a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone.

How to Choose the Right Wellness Event

Selecting the right wellness event in Austin depends entirely on your personal goals and preferences. Consider the type of wellness practice you're seeking: are you looking for active movement like Vinyasa yoga, or something more introspective like a guided meditation or sound bath? Location is also a key factor; do you prefer the serene natural settings of the Barton Creek Greenbelt, the bustling energy of downtown studios, or the artistic vibe of East Austin? Pay attention to the instructor's style and the group's size, as these can significantly impact your experience. Check the schedule to ensure it aligns with your availability and inquire about the event's overall vibe – is it more social and community-focused, or is it geared towards quiet, individual practice? Don't hesitate to reach out to event hosts or studios with questions about what to bring, what to expect for a first-timer, or if there are any specific prerequisites. Many places offer introductory rates, allowing you to sample different classes before committing to a particular group or studio.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the typical cost for wellness events in Austin?

Costs vary significantly in Austin. Many outdoor events in parks like Zilker are free or donation-based (suggested $10-20), while studio drop-in rates for yoga or meditation usually range from $15 to $30. Workshops or specialized events can cost $40-$100 or more, often with package deals available.

Are Austin's wellness events suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. Most wellness events in Austin, from yoga to sound baths and meditation, are designed to be accessible for all skill levels. Instructors are typically adept at offering modifications and guidance, ensuring a comfortable experience for newcomers.

When is the best time to attend outdoor wellness events in Austin?

Due to Austin's hot climate, the best times for outdoor wellness events are generally early mornings (7 AM - 9 AM) or evenings (6 PM - sunset) to avoid intense heat, especially from May through September. Spring and fall offer pleasant temperatures throughout the day.

What are the parking and transit options for popular event locations?

Parking can be challenging, particularly around downtown, Zilker Park, and South Congress. Utilize CapMetro buses or ride-sharing services when possible. What should I wear to a typical wellness event?

Comfort is key. Wear loose-fitting, breathable clothing that allows for full range of motion. Layers are often a good idea, especially for outdoor events where temperatures can shift, or for indoor sessions where you might cool down during relaxation.

Are there indoor options for wellness events during extreme weather?

Yes, Austin has numerous indoor studios, community centers, and dedicated wellness spaces that host events year-round. These provide a climate-controlled environment, perfect for escaping the summer heat or rare winter chills, ensuring your wellness journey isn't interrupted by weather.
